This game it was important to put in a performance after the previous match. Park started the better in the first 5 minutes and were very unlucky not to be 2-0 up within five minutes after two very good chances. The Horley defence were all over the place & Park were very unlucky not to get the ball in the back of the net.
Unfortunately Horley hit us on the counter attack down the left side and their striker managed to slot it past keeper Bobby Griffin. After this Park lost their shape & began to panic. By half time we were 3-0 down and lucky it was not more, thanks to keeper Griffin.
2nd half and Park had to make a few changes after  Bobby Griffin got injured, Ben Varley did the team proud with a sterling performance in goal although he dislikes this position he did a very professional job.
Park came out battling second half and showed their character. Kyren Ghumra put in some crunching tackles along with super-sub Oliver Greeves who played his heart out, with a fantastic performance. Ghumra made a great run from defence and ran through the whole of Horleys backline but unfortunately slightly scuffed his shot just wide of the post.
Midfield dynamos Conner Barnes & Capt Jack Unsherwood were now starting to take control in the midfield along with Terry Braker & Ryan Still making some very good runs down the wings. Still tried with a fantastic shot to lob the goalkeeper, but unfortunately Horley's keeper was up to the challenge, just managing to get a hand to it..
Another good performance by Toby Quelch filling in at left back for injured Nicholas Ashenden. Another chance fell to Ildi Muka but to our disbelief and that of his poor old dad, he put it wide. Very unlucky although this summed up the game was to go for Park.  Shaun Turner lead by example battling to every ball and kept going putting in a man of the match performance.
How Park didn't get this game back to 3-3 is beyond me but this is football!! I would like to congratulate the lads on a very courageous performance, second half. We can only take positives from this game build on them in the Surrey Cup next week.

Come on Park.
