U12 Boys learn a few lessons | |
| Date 15/09/07 Venue: Away Competition: League Opponents: Whyteleafe A Result L 0-12 Scorers: |
The Under 12 Boys are a very
new team having being formed mostly from boys who attended the open training
sessions from last season.
This was their first competitive match and unfortunately they were blown away 12-0 by an experienced & well organised Whyteleafe team with some very strong players. A lack of experience & some very basic errors early on in the game with a mixture of nerves cost us at the end of the day. But the team's great spirit to keep on fighting & unwillingness to lie down till the very end could not be faulted. Despite the result the boys showed alot of character and will only learn and gain in experience from this result. The old saying 'Rome was not built in a day' springs to mind. Man of the match had to be to Bobby Griffins (goalkeeper) because he made some terrific saves and kept on going despite the heavy loss & hard work on his back picking up the ball from the back of the net twelve times!! |
