 Try as they might Queens Park Under 11 Girls could not find a way passed the packed Ascot Diamonds defence to get the goal their play deserved.
In a largely one sided game, Queens Park dominated an organised Ascot Diamonds side from the outset and had much the better of the first half even though they were playing up a steep slope. Ellie went near witha couple of long range efforts and Michaela was prevented from taking scoring opportunities with a last ditch tackles as Diamonds held out.
The second half was the same story. Chloe and Amy battled away in midfield winning all of the 50-50 challenges and Katie and Jordan gave great support making breaks down both wings. The ball just wouldn't roll correctly as Megan tried to find a route to goal.
The defence still had to be alert however, with Alex and Emily putting paid to attempts from Ascot to get back into the game. When they did sneak through Jemima was alert and assured in her handling.
Goalmouth scramble followed goalmouth scramble as Park sought the vital goal to give them a deserved victory but it was not to be. 0 - 0 the final result.
A good performance from the girls today, 100% effort and commitment, just lacking a little sharpness and luck in front of goal.
