Tigers take the points in 1st Caterham derby
30th September 2006

Park welcomed local rivals Caterham Pumas to their ground and then set about playing them off the pitch. The first half was close with both teams having chances and both keepers doing well.

It was Thomas Skilton along with George Simson working down the right, with a pin point cross for Joel Standford to put Park in front. Pumas mounted a sustained attack but with Matthew Wise, in goal, at the top of his game, along with Andrew Auletta and Ian Williams, in defence, Pumas just could not break through.

The second half saw Park make inroads with some fine football. They played around the Pumas team and it was not long before Matthew Hewitt scored Parks second and his fourth in three games. This opened the game up. As Pumas tried to get one back, they left room for Joe Bond, Sunny Mewbury and George Simson to run into and it was Joel Standford that got the third with a low shot to the left of a stranded keeper.

But in truth it could have been more as a combination of missed chances and good defending kept it to only three.

The game was played in a good spirit with both teams giving their all for the team,s.
