Tigers roar !!
29th October 2006
Tigers travailed to Stoneleigh after having a week off and this seemed
to do the trick. Tigers started well with some good play through the centre
up to Sonny Newbury and Joel Standford who made life difficult for the
Stoneleigh defenders. Joel struck first with a fine chip over the keeper
and in. It was not long before he doubled our lead. He latched on to a
ball from Thomas Skilton and went straight for goal with a hard low shot
into the corner.
Matthew Wise, in goal, stepped up to make a fine save at the near post
from a hard drive.
Matthew Hewitt and George Simson worked hard all game with some good link
work involving Joe Bond and Andrew Auletta which ended in a great strike
and first goal from Ian Williams.
The second half started with a change of goal keeper to Harry Milton who
went in to give Matt a chance out on pitch. Thomas played as a sweeper
and lone defender as Tigers had all the play in the Stoneleigh half, Tigers
worked well and it was not long before Andrew scored his first of the season
and then Joe headed in from a corner. The Stoneleigh goalkeeper made a
string of saves and even George helped when he stopped a certain goal from
Matthew Hewitt and then hit the post with his effort. He made up for this
when he finally scored rounding off a good display by the Tigers.
