Park share six with local rivals

Park went to local rivals Whyteleafe on the back of a close game the week before. They started well and in the first ten minutes went close as both teams tried to get the upper hand.

Whyteleafe played the long ball to good effect but it was the close control and movement from Park that brought the first breakthrough. Thomas went down the right and was taken down and from the free kick, George placed the ball into the area where Joe was ready to put it in.

Park enjoyed a good spell where they could have increased their lead but it was Whyteleafe who levelled the game and then with a good effort went ahead.

The second half started fast, with Andrew, Harry and Joel all doing well in their areas. Park's bit of skill came when Matthew Hewitt scored from a corner straight in the top corner with the keeper nowhere. This was followed by Sonny’s fine strike over the defence, just under the bar, Park were 3 – 2 up with minutes to play. Whyteleafe pushed up and worked hard to get back and it was a fine effort that hit the keeper and went in to give them the draw.

Both teams played well and a share in the points was a fare reflection of the game Park showed they could live the best of them and all the players were deserving of the man of the match award. But special mention must go to Matthew Wise in goal for the first time with a string of top saves and Ian Williams at the back showed a cool head and turned defence into attack with a fine skill.
