Queens Park gave local rivals Whyteleafe a boost with a hard fought draw against second spot NPL. Park were 3-0 down at half time due to the long ball and hard forwards that NPL had. Park found it hard to play their normal passing game as the pitch was very hard, considering all the rain we have had. The second half started in much the same way and NPL soon added a fourth, they seemed to relax and Park managed to deal with the long ball and bounce by stopping it in the air.
Joe scored from the half way line, a great strike over the keeper and in,
all of a sudden Park were back passing and moving well with NPL nowhere
and it was not long before Andrew hit a ball low and hard from just inside
there half, Ian stuck out his foot and the ball was sent into the far corner.
Well we were in for a good time, NPL were on the rack with Park up and
going for it. George had had a hard game being a lone striker and as you
know sometimes you can work hard with no reward. But today George got his,
with two well taken goals sending the Parks supporters wild. Park had managed
to come back from 4-0 down to get a point against second in the league.
Thomas, Sunny, Mathew Hewitt and Matthew Wise all did their bit in this
comeback not our best playing but a good result.
