Park started 2007 with an away game at Carshalton Saints, with only seven players the boys know they had to work hard for this one. It started well with some good passing and calling. Park got the early break through when Matthew Hewitt scored straight from a corner into to the far corner. This was soon followed by a strong run from midfield by Andrew Auletta then the cool layoff to Sonny Newbury who just placed it past the keeper. Saints had tried to get back but with Harry Milton and Ian Williams in such good form they did not get any half chances at Matthew Wise in goal who had a good game with all his goal kicks going all the way up the field. Park pulled away from Saint with two more goals before the break, in the second half Joe Bond carried on with his good work and with the promise of a reward from his dad scored two goal before being moved back to let Harry have a go upfront, Matthew Hewitt scored again and just to show it was no fluke straight from a corner into the fare post again.
Andrew got his reward with a fine goal from out side the area a hard low
shot that went under the keeper, man of the match was Sonny with four
goals and a display of working hard up and down the wing all day.
A good start to the year well done boys for the way you played not just
the score.
